Silverthread Falls is the opening waterfall on the Dingmans Falls ADA-accessible boardwalk trail in Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The paved boardwalk path spans just over half a mile, mostly level, and showcases both Silverthread Falls and the taller Dingmans Falls downstream.
This is one of Pennsylvania’s most accessible waterfall experiences, suitable for wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers. No dogs are permitted on the trail or visitor center area, and swimming or wading in the creek is prohibited. The visitor center operates seasonally during summer months and provides interpretive programming about the area’s geology and ecology.
There is no entrance fee, and parking is available adjacent to the trailhead. Silverthread Falls represents an excellent choice for visitors seeking barrier-free access to multiple waterfalls with minimal physical exertion.
Late spring through early fall when water flow is strong and the visitor center is open; summer brings peak crowds.
