Issaqueena Falls is a 100-foot waterfall accessible via an easy 0.4-mile trail in Stumphouse Park near Walhalla. The main overlook trail remains open and well-maintained, offering a clear view of the falls without requiring a strenuous hike.
Important note: The unofficial path that once descended to the base of the falls has been permanently closed for safety reasons. Plan your visit with the understanding that viewing is from the overlook and deck only, not from the base. Dogs are welcome on the overlook trail.
Admission to Stumphouse Park is $5 per vehicle, paid at the entrance with cash or online via QR code. Stumphouse Tunnel, another popular attraction in the same park, makes for an easy pairing with an Issaqueena Falls visit. Since the overlook trail is only 0.4 miles round-trip, you can easily combine both destinations in a single visit.
Year-round; the park is open and the overlook trail is maintained.
If you were hoping to hike to the base of the falls; the overlook-only trail may not suit that goal.
Stumphouse Tunnel, located nearby within Stumphouse Park, is another popular visitor destination.

Checked sctrails.net/trails/trail/issaqueena-falls and visitoconeesc.com/stumphouse-park (official Oconee County tourism page describing the City of Walhalla-managed park) (2026-09-04). CLOSURE CHECK: the unofficial, unmaintained user-worn path down to the base of the falls has been permanently closed by the park for safety; the main 0.4-mile overlook/deck trail remains open, so the waterfall is not excluded — noted that base access is closed.
