Bird Woman Falls is a 492-foot waterfall visible from a roadside pullout on Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park. Unlike most Glacier waterfalls, this requires no hiking—you pull off the road, park, and view the falls from the overlook.
The waterfall drops dramatically between Mount Oberlin and Mount Cannon. Glacier National Park entrance fees apply ($35 for a seven-day vehicle pass). Going-to-the-Sun Road is typically closed by snow in winter and opens in late spring; the 2026 season opening was June 22.
Because this is a roadside pullout rather than a trail, leashed dogs are permitted in the parking area. This makes it an especially convenient stop for visitors traveling with pets. Check road conditions with the National Park Service, as Going-to-the-Sun Road may close temporarily due to weather or maintenance.
More information is available from the NPS Bird Woman Falls Overlook page.

nps.gov/places/bird-woman-falls-overlook.htm; checked 2026-09-03. Falls drop 492 ft from between Mount Oberlin and Mount Cannon. This is a drive-up roadside viewpoint with auto parking, not a maintained trail to the falls base, so leashed dogs are permitted in the parking/pullout area per NPS pet policy.
