Alberta Falls is an easy waterfall hike accessed via Glacier Gorge Trailhead near Estes Park on the east side of Rocky Mountain National Park. The 1.6-mile round-trip trail follows Glacier Gorge Creek with steady but gentle elevation gain.
The trail is well-maintained and popular, especially in summer when alpine meadows bloom. An entrance fee is required, and timed-entry reservations are mandatory during peak season (late May through mid-October). Dogs are not allowed on park trails. Snow can linger on high passes through June, so verify trail conditions before planning a spring visit.
Best time to visit is May through October, when park facilities and trail conditions are most stable.
Visit May through October when park timed-entry reservations are available; alpine terrain can be snow-covered and impassable outside these months.
