The trailhead is located at Grand Lake, on the park’s western side. Access requires an entrance fee and may require a timed-entry reservation during peak summer months (late May through mid-October, per NPS announcements). Dogs are not permitted on any park trails, and the high elevation means conditions can change rapidly with seasons.
